Additional information

Stirring up Korean traditions and culture with a hilarious look at "mudang", or
Korean shamans, director-playwright Lee Yun-taek brings his successful
play "Ohgoo" to the big screen!
Lee's masterpiece "Ohgoo" debuted on stage in 1989 and has attracted some
2.7 million people in its 13-year performance. The film version of "Ohgoo"
stars many actors from the stage version, including Kang Bu-ja, a popular
Korean TV actress, who plays grandma Hwang in the film.

The film revolves around grandma Hwang who had an angel of death
entering her dream to signify her upcoming death. To prepare herself the
path to heaven after death, she asks a shaman to perform a ritual
called "kut". The ritual, however, was banned for years since Mi-yeon (Lee
Jae-eun), a daughter of the shaman, had been kicked out of the village for
being pregnant without getting married. Mi-yeon at last returns to the village
upon grandma Hwang's request.

The restoration of "kut" in the village brings along heat and joy in the village,
easing off the grief and resentment among villagers throughout the years.
Most importantly, the hidden truth of those misunderstandings are revealed.
